Obama's Real Religion

I've heard rumors that President Obama is a Muslim and that he is an atheist, or at least an agnostic.

My personal opinion is that President Obama's real religion is the same as President Bush's, which was the same as President Clinton's, which was the same as President Bush's, which was the same as President Reagan's, which was the same as....well, you get the picture.

What was that religion? If you answered "Christianity," then I disagree with you. I think that in truth, the religion of all of our presidents can be summed up by Matthew 4:8-9:

"Again, the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain and showed him all the nations of the world and their splendor; and said, 'All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.'

Am I accusing Obama and all our other presidents of devil worship? Not exactly. I doubt that any of them consciously worshipped the devil. And if we asked them if they did, I think they would vehemently and honestly deny it. However, the question is whether they would have given in to the temptation that the devil offered to Jesus. And I think the answer is, unfortunately, yes, they would have. I think they would have done anything in their power to become president, even worship the devil. And not necessarily out of bad motives. It is possible that most or even all of them did it for the best motives -- to use power to accomplish good ends. And that is the real temptation. No doubt Jesus felt it himself. All he had to do was worship the devil and he could have had the power to change the world and make it the perfect place he knew he could make it to be. Yet, at the very heart of the world's power was an evil presence that would corrupt the best of motives, even the Son of God's.

So Jesus resisted this temptation:

"Jesus replied, 'Away with you, Satan! for it is written,

'Worship the Sovereign your God,
and serve only God.'" (Matt.4:10)

Jesus knew that in order to save the world, he would first need to destroy the power of the ruler of this world.

I don't think any of our presidents ever knew this before they took office. I wonder if any of them learned it afterwards.
