Michael Behe and David Ray Griffin
we find Michael Behe quoting David Ray Griffin:
"So the point is that many reviewers of my book have agreed that these complex molecular machines so far are unexplained within the Darwinian framework. But some scientists claim that such explanations are out there somewhere, and a man named David Griffin, who is a professor of the philosophy of religion at Claremont College in California, nonetheless, wanted to track down those explanations.
And in his book, "Religion and Scientific Naturalism," he said that 'The response I have received from repeating Behe's claim about the evolutionary literature, which simply brings out the point being made implicitly by many others, such as Chris Dutton and so on, is that I obviously have not read the right books. There are, I am sure, evolutionists who have described how the transitions in question could have occurred." And he continues, "When I ask in which books I can find these discussions, however, I either get no answer or else some titles that, upon examination, do not, in fact, contain the promised accounts. That such accounts exist seems to be something that is widely known, but I have yet to encounter anyone who knows where they exist.'"
What's interesting is that David Ray Griffin is a 9/11 truther. And not just any 9/11 truther, but the man who has been the spearhead of the 9/11 Truth Movement. In fact, he is to the 9/11 Truth Movement what Philip Johnson has been to the ID Movement. Since I'm a double whacko, who is both an ID proponent and a 9/11 truther, this isn't a problem for me. It is a problem for anyone who holds one of those views but not the other. So for Michael Behe to quote Dr. Griffin is risky business.

Obama's Real Religion
My personal opinion is that President Obama's real religion is the same as President Bush's, which was the same as President Clinton's, which was the same as President Bush's, which was the same as President Reagan's, which was the same as....well, you get the picture.
What was that religion? If you answered "Christianity," then I disagree with you. I think that in truth, the religion of all of our presidents can be summed up by Matthew 4:8-9:
"Again, the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain and showed him all the nations of the world and their splendor; and said, 'All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.'
Am I accusing Obama and all our other presidents of devil worship? Not exactly. I doubt that any of them consciously worshipped the devil. And if we asked them if they did, I think they would vehemently and honestly deny it. However, the question is whether they would have given in to the temptation that the devil offered to Jesus. And I think the answer is, unfortunately, yes, they would have. I think they would have done anything in their power to become president, even worship the devil. And not necessarily out of bad motives. It is possible that most or even all of them did it for the best motives -- to use power to accomplish good ends. And that is the real temptation. No doubt Jesus felt it himself. All he had to do was worship the devil and he could have had the power to change the world and make it the perfect place he knew he could make it to be. Yet, at the very heart of the world's power was an evil presence that would corrupt the best of motives, even the Son of God's.
So Jesus resisted this temptation:
"Jesus replied, 'Away with you, Satan! for it is written,
'Worship the Sovereign your God,
and serve only God.'" (Matt.4:10)
Jesus knew that in order to save the world, he would first need to destroy the power of the ruler of this world.
I don't think any of our presidents ever knew this before they took office. I wonder if any of them learned it afterwards.
